1. Sudan
Officially named the Republic of Sudan, Sudan is an African country bordered by Egypt and divided by the River Nile. It is a country steeped in culture and tradition, and the people of Sudan are warm and welcoming to tourists.
However, over the course of several decades Sudan’s tourism industry has suffered as a result of the civil warfare between its people. Consequently, many governments warn travelers to give Sudan a wide berth when planning their next vacation.
