4 English Towns You'll Love Wandering the Streets Of
Bath
Bath is named for one of its prominent features: The Roman Baths. Home to natural hot springs, visitors can take a tour of the Roman portion of the baths (which are no longer in use), or visit the adjacent spa and bath facility that has been revamped for a more modern clientele.
With two restaurants on site, there is no need to leave the facilities in order to both get pampered and take in a little bit of culture.
Just around the corner from the baths is the gorgeous Bath Abbey, which was first recognized in the 7th century (though it was likely a convent and perhaps even a pagan worship site much earlier). Visitors can take in its breathtaking views from the Roman Baths just a few feet away, but in order to truly appreciate it you must pay it a visit from the inside.
Aside from the Roman Baths and the Abbey, visitors can enjoy a first-rate shopping experience in Bath’s city center. Bath holds a combination of local shops and nationwide chains. Additionally, the city is also home to a large network of parks, perfect for lounging or taking a picnic to on sunny days. Visitors can also take in the Georgian architecture that makes up most of the city.
