7 Must-Visit Couple Destinations in India
Goa
While Goa is famous for its nightlife, the beaches certainly will not disappoint those couples who like things a bit quieter. As it was a former colonial settlement, in Goa you will find many remnants of colonial Portuguese architecture, especially some very nicely preserved churches from 17 century. If you like the party life, check out the popular areas of Baga and Palolem. Alternatively, if you just want to enjoy a stretch of beautiful sand and watch the stars with your someone special, then check out the more laidback fishing villages nearby such as Agonda. There is also plenty of opportunities to take a yoga class or two if that is your sort of thing.
Havelock Island
If ease of access is not a concern, then Havelock Island should be at the top of your list for places in India to visit as a couple. A relatively secluded island in the Andaman Sea, Havelock Island offers stunning beaches with silky smooth sand, gorgeous azure water and some of the best diving in the region. Spend the day exploring the coral reefs off of Elephant Beach and follow it with a relaxing and romantic time, watching the sunset on Radhanagar Beach. The interior is forested and home to interesting birds and other wildlife offering even more chances to explore.
Hiking in Europe is one of the best ways to explore the countries of your choosing. From mountains to fields to ocean views, these trails will awe you.
Delhi
Delhi, India’s sprawling capital may not be the most romantic destination on our list, but it is a must-see nonetheless. Part of the typical tourist triangle along with Agra and Jaipur, the city is steeped in history but becoming more modern all the time, offering interesting sites, smells, sounds and surprising juxtapositions of new and old. Likely to leave you feeling a bit crazy at times, the city can be a overwhelming, but it really should not be missed, even if only for a few days at the front or back end of your trip. Highlights include the winding lanes of Old Delhi, the Red Fort, Humayan’s Tomb (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Qutub Minar monument and the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple, the world’s largest Hindu temple.
